
Karamoja CSOs, Local Governments Gear Up for Synergy Building Workshop
Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) and Local Government leaders in Karamoja are gearing up for the regional Civil Society-Local Government partnership reflection and information sharing workshop.
Organized under the Partnership for Accountability, Civil Engagement, and Rights (PACER) program, the workshop, which is supported by the Royal Danish Embassy, will take place on May 20, 2025, at Hotel Africana in Moroto.
The workshop aims to enhance coordination, knowledge sharing, and strategic alignment among partners for greater impact in the region.
Technical officers from nine Districts and Civil Society implementing partners will come together to present their project scopes, geographic focus, and key interventions.
Some of the implementing partners include Riamiriam Civil Society Network-Karamoja, ACCU, ACODE, CSBAG, MUCOBADI, ACFIM, UNNGOF, HRCU, ACME, FIDA, ULS, DD, FOWODE, KAWUO, and NUDIPU.
Government Officials, including the Inspector General of Government (IGG), Chief Administrative Officers (CAOs), and Uganda Human Rights Commission (UHRC), will also participate, focusing on opportunities for synergies and collaboration.
The Development Counsellor, Royal Danish Embassy, Ms. Kirstine Primdal Sutton, will grace the occasion, highlighting the Embassy’s commitment to supporting development initiatives in Uganda.
According to Richard Omoding, Executive Director of Riamiriam Civil Society Network-Karamoja, the workshop aims to foster a more collaborative and effective approach to development in Karamoja, ultimately benefiting the local communities.
This initiative marks a significant step towards achieving the PACER program’s goals, and stakeholders are eagerly anticipating the outcomes of this important gathering.
