Main Objective

Enhance the capacity of civil society, local government and state actors, the poor and marginalized communities in south Karamoja engage in effective and evidence based dialogue with government and service providers to demand for better service delivery for women and men in Uganda.

Specific Objectives

Strengthen the capacity of the poor and marginalized communities in south Karamoja to lobby, monitor and advocate for better service delivery by both Government and other service providers.

Results of the project

  • The trained CSOs have supported the communities to advance their social service delivery issues these initiatives were encompassed on the continuous engagement with the Sub counties to create space for the citizenry to participate in local government planning processes.
  • Strengthen the capacity of local Government, state accountability agencies to respond to pro-poor service delivery among the poor and marginalized communities of south Karamoja.
  • Undertook community monitoring visits and documentation of success stories by supporting twelve (12) advocacy committees (groups) to monitor government projects and contracts.
  • The CSOs have supported the communities to advance their social service delivery issues these initiatives have encompassed engaging the Sub counties to create space for the citizenry to participate in local government planning processes, initiated dialogue to resolve conflicts that have an impact on social service delivery
